Supports National IP Transactional and Counseling Moot Court Competition
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – October 18, 2014 – Frank Taney, principal of Taney Legal LLC, served as one of the judges for the East Coast finals of the IP LawMeet moot court competition held at the University of Pennsylvania Law School on October 17, 2014.
IP LawMeet (www.ipmeet.lawmeets.com) is the premier lawyering competition for students contemplating a transactional practice focused on Intellectual Property (IP). The National IP LawMeet is a part of the LawMeet family of live, interactive, educational competitions designed to give law students a hands-on experience to develop and hone their transactional lawyering skills. Law students from law schools across the country participate in the competition, which involves client counseling, contract drafting and negotiation in connection with a complex hypothetical IP transaction.
As one of the judges, Taney scored the teams’ written work, and observed and scored the teams’ live negotiation sessions. He also provided feedback and advice to the teams after the live negotiating sessions concluded. The winners of the East and West Coast regional finals, who will be announced shortly, move on to the national finals of the competition.
